The RRB Junior Engineer (JE) exam is conducted in two stages: the Computer-Based Test (CBT) and the Document Verification and Medical Examination.

1. CBT Stage 1:

  • Duration: 90 minutes.
  • Total Marks: 100.
  • Subjects:
    • General Intelligence and Reasoning (25 marks)
    • General Awareness (30 marks)
    • Mathematics (30 marks)
    • Technical Subjects related to the Engineering Discipline (15 marks).
  • Negative Marking: 1/3rd marks for each wrong answer.

2. CBT Stage 2:

  • Duration: 2 hours.
  • Total Marks: 150.
  • Subjects:
    • General Awareness (15 marks)
    • General Intelligence and Reasoning (15 marks)
    • Mathematics (15 marks)
    • Technical Subjects (105 marks specific to the Engineering Discipline like Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering).
  • Negative Marking: 1/3rd marks for incorrect answers.

Important Points:

  • Stage 2 is more technical and specific to the chosen engineering discipline.
  • The final selection is based on performance in CBT 2 and document verification.
  • Candidates who clear the CBT will undergo document verification and a medical test to ensure they meet the physical standards.

This structure is designed to evaluate both general aptitude and deep technical knowledge in the candidate’s respective field of engineering.
